Users of the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, are reporting significant declines in engagement and follower counts. Simon Ateba noted that his posts were viewed less than 11 million times, a drastic drop from previous metrics. Virtually all accounts have seen their viewership drop by 80 to 90 percent. Similarly, Mitchell reported being stuck at 405.2k followers for a week due to nightly deletions of new followers. Omar Sar expressed concerns over the increasing presence of spam and bot responses and noted better engagement on other platforms like YouTube and Substack. TheDEFIac highlighted that the platform has deteriorated since Elon Musk's takeover, likening it to Instagram and Facebook in terms of uninteresting content.
Talked to a few peoeple about this and it seems that many feel the same way. Since @elonmusk took over twitter, its progressively worse here. Twitter basically converges to instagram/facebook, where majority of content is uninteresting engagement farming crap. https://t.co/pyqMvVv3Lo
Starting to see more and better engagement on other platforms like YouTube and Substack. What happened to Twitter or X as it's called now? Not sure if it's just me but it has been on a decline in terms of getting the RIGHT engagement. I see more spam/bot responses than actual…
I have been stuck at 405.2k followers for a week now because every night they delete the hundred followers I gained during the day. X isn't even trying to hide their manipulation at this point.

What has happened to X? Here are my impressions: yesterday, my posts were viewed less than 11 million times. Virtually all the accounts I follow have seen their viewership drop by 80 to 90 percent. So, I am not the only one. Many accounts are affected, probably including yours. https://t.co/jwFUp9pRjW
