US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has expressed his intention to work with China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi to ease tensions in the Middle East. The two countries are meeting to lay the groundwork for a summit between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Blinken also participated in a UN Security Council meeting on the conflict in Israel and Gaza. Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan met with Blinken on the sidelines of the UNSC meeting.
