Maryland experienced a historic tornado outbreak on Wednesday night, with the National Weather Service confirming at least five tornadoes across the state. The severe weather event included five EF-1 tornadoes and two EF-0 tornadoes, causing significant damage and flooding. The tornadoes affected areas such as Montgomery County, Gaithersburg, Columbia, Arbutus, Middle River, and Eldersburg. In Gaithersburg, a tree crushed a home, injuring five people. Streets in Harford County were flooded, and drivers had to be rescued from their vehicles. The National Weather Service issued 22 tornado warnings, making it one of the most active tornado days on record for Maryland. Survey teams are assessing the damage, and more information is expected to be released. In total, 19 tornadoes were reported, with 16 of those in Maryland. At least 10 structures were damaged in Carroll County.
