The Justice Department continues to pursue significant prison sentences for individuals involved in the January 6 Capitol riot. Dale Huttle, from Utah, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for using a flagpole to injure an officer. The Feds had initially sought a 7-year sentence for Huttle. Raymond Cholod faces a 55-month sentence for elbowing an officer and making inflammatory statements. Ulises Wilkinson is facing a 2-month sentence for entering the Senate chamber. Jack Whitton has begun serving a 57-month sentence in Philadelphia for attacking officers with a crutch. Odin Meacham, also from Utah, was convicted for slamming a flagpole against an officer, breaking the flagpole in the process. Another defendant, Dustin Williams of Texas, is set to go on trial on August 5 for allegedly shoving and pushing police officers. Additionally, a Crown Point man was sentenced to 2.5 years for striking officers with an American flag. The Justice Department's efforts highlight its commitment to holding accountable those who participated in the Capitol riot.
