The Carolinas and Georgia are also facing severe weather threats, with damaging winds, hail, and isolated tornado risks. In South Carolina, storms have caused significant wind damage in Chester, Lancaster, and Kershaw counties, with gusts reaching up to 85 mph. Cleanup efforts in areas like Pawleys Island are ongoing after storms caused tree damage and power outages, including a 52 mph gust reported in Buffalo Mesonet.
