China's power consumption in May 2024 increased by 7.2% year-on-year to 775.1 billion kWh (775.1 TWh), according to the National Energy Administration and the NDRC. This growth was faster than in April. For the period from January to May, power consumption expanded by 8.6% year-on-year, reaching 3.84 trillion kWh.
