China's new energy vehicle (NEV) industry has shown significant growth in the first five months of 2024. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), NEV sales increased by 32.5% year-on-year, reaching approximately 3.9 million units. In May alone, China sold 955,000 NEVs, marking a 12% increase from April. The NEV output surged by 30.7% to about 3.93 million units. Additionally, nearly 40% of May's auto sales were electric vehicles and hybrids. May's NEV sales increased by 33.3% year-on-year.
