Global clean energy investment is now nearly double that of fossil fuels, with China leading the way by spending 3.7 times more on clean energy than on fossil fuels. China accounts for a majority of the global spending on solar, wind energy, hydropower, batteries, and electric vehicles, installing roughly 65% of the world's solar panels and manufacturing 65% of electric cars.
