Apple has opened its newest store in Shanghai, which is now the largest in Asia at approximately 3800 square meters and the second most expensive, costing $11.6 million, only behind the New York Fifth Avenue store. The store, named Apple Jing'an, saw a significant turnout with around 1,000 people waiting to enter, including a fan who traveled from Shenzhen. Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, was present at the opening, meeting with developers and fans. The event also featured 'aunties' who were cheered for as they collected commemorative freebies featuring the Shanghai magnolia. The store's 150 staff members are capable of communicating in multiple languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish, Malay, and 25 Chinese dialects. The opening was covered by David Snow and highlighted by $AAPL.
