Several members of Congress have announced significant funding and initiatives to improve high-speed internet access and support essential services in their respective states. Rep. Susie Lee and Sen. Jacky Rosen both highlighted the allocation of over $9 million to Nevada for expanding high-speed internet access, courtesy of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Sen. Rosen also announced securing $33 million in PILT funding for rural Nevada to support various essential services, including law enforcement and education. Rep. Angie Craig, in her DC office, Rep. Greg Stanton from Arizona, and Rep. Sherrill emphasized their collaboration with the CWA Union to advocate for fair wages, working conditions, and benefits for communications workers. Additionally, Sen. Cortez Masto toured a new clinic in Northern Nevada, made possible through secured federal resources, to ensure access to health care for Nevadans.
Today, I toured the new @nnhopes clinic that's ready to serve thousands of Northern Nevadans. I'm proud to have secured federal resources that helped make this expansion possible, and I will always work to ensure Nevadans can get the health care they need. https://t.co/w8t6Y6mABO
It was wonderful to see advocates from @CWAUnion in Washington and have a great discussion about our shared priorities – standing up for working families, fighting for fair wages and working conditions, and protecting our nation’s unions. https://t.co/aUYiubPdCL
Glad to welcome Arizona @CWAUnion members to Washington yesterday. I'm proud to be their partner on key issues for Arizona—like investing in high-speed, reliable broadband to eliminate the digital divide and grow our economy. https://t.co/dT8RbZiBbq
Since Day One, I’ve been working to deliver federal funding and resources to rural Nevada for essential services. Proud to have helped secure $33M in PILT funding this year for communities across Nevada to support everything from law enforcement to education.
Access to affordable high-speed internet is essential to daily life & I’ve been leading efforts in Congress to deliver historic funding to connect more NV households. I’m proud to have helped secure $9+ million in funding for NV to increase skills & close the digital divide.
Access to the internet means access to jobs, health care, and education opportunities. I’m proud to announce $9 million coming to NV for expanding high-speed internet access across our state, all courtesy of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law I was proud to help negotiate & pass. https://t.co/zOClX7WmLD
Today I met with the @CWAUnion in my DC office to have a productive conversation about how we can work together to ensure Minnesota communications workers get the fair wages, working conditions and benefits they’ve earned as they work to keep our country connected. https://t.co/KCbP5YbmOp
