German company Rheinmetall and Ukrainian Defense Industry have formed a joint venture, according to Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. The joint venture, named Rheinmetall - Ukrainian Defense Industry LLC, was registered on October 18 and will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment. Prime Minister Shmyhal met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during an official visit to Germany to discuss support for Ukraine. German Chancellor Scholz expressed his intention to establish a European Union funding facility to support Ukraine beyond the ongoing war with Russia. Rheinmetall is also increasing its profit through the delivery of ammunition to Ukraine.
