Texas has received federal approval for SNAP recipients in 11 counties to apply for replacement benefits following recent severe storms and flooding, including those in the Houston area. Eligible Texans who lost or had food destroyed due to last week’s storms can now apply for these benefits until June 17. Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) announced this measure to help affected residents recover. Texans can apply by dialing 2-1-1 and selecting option 2.
