Rafael Nadal, the former world number one in tennis, has cast doubt on his future in the sport after admitting his body might not allow him to compete, particularly in the upcoming European clay-court swing starting in Monte Carlo. Nadal, who has only played seven matches since the start of 2023, all on hard courts in Australia, shared his struggles with injury and his efforts to return to the game over the past 15 months. Despite his determination, the prospect of him continuing his career beyond this summer seems increasingly unlikely, leaving the tennis world broken hearted. Fans and fellow players have expressed disappointment, hoping to see Nadal compete alongside stars like Djokovic, Sinner, and Alcaraz in major events.
"My body simply won’t allow me. And even if I am working hard and making the maximum effort every day with all the will to play and compete, the truth is that I can’t play today. You have no idea how hard this is for me to not be able to play these events." Rafael Nadal 🥺 https://t.co/W3QTVVYLZ4

Just sucks to know that Nadal has played only seven matches since the start of 2023 and all of them on hard courts and in Australia. Hoping he can break free of the dark clouds that have hovered over him for 15 months.
Not looking good for Nadal. I’d be surprised if he plays at all this year. Can’t get the body sorted. Would love to see a few events with Djokovic, Sinner, Alcaraz and Nadal all playing. That would be massive.
