The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) has announced the recipients of its Essential Open Source Software for Science (EOSS) grants, cycle 6. Among the grantees are Torsten Seemann, who will use the funding to develop the next generation of his Snippy software after 20+ years in science, and the Bactopia project, which will gain visual reports and new training materials. Seemann expressed excitement for finally being funded for his open-source contributions. The Kavli Foundation and Wellcome Trust are co-funders in this round of awards.
Wow! Two days have fantastic talks, and weβre not even done yet. Our final sessions of virtual evolution include Evolution and Ecology, Molecular Evolution and Transcriptomics, and a Potpourri session. Hope to see you there!
We're honored to have been funded by @cziscience in cycle 6 of their EOSS program & look forward to bringing some recent algorithmic advances to widely-used tools & building some new ones as well!
