The European Commission has announced the winners of the Large AI Grand Challenge, awarding four innovative AI startups from Europe, including Lingua Custodia, Unbabel, Tilde, and Textgain. These startups will share a prize of €1 million and 8 million computational hours on EuroHPC JU’s supercomputers, LUMI and Leonardo. Unbabel, one of the winners, will receive millions of GPU training hours and 12 months of access to these supercomputers. The developed models will be released under an open-source license or the research will be published.
