On April 18, 2024, various U.S. lawmakers and organizations celebrated National Lineworker Appreciation Day, recognizing the vital contributions of lineworkers who maintain the country's power infrastructure. Representatives and Senators, including Rick Scott, Joe Manchin, and David Rouzer, expressed their gratitude towards lineworkers for their dedication and hard work, particularly during emergencies such as storms and power outages. Rep. David Rouzer introduced House Resolution 1157 (H. Res. 1157) to officially designate April 18 as National Lineman Appreciation Day, supported by multiple colleagues across different states.
When we experienced heavy ice storms this winter, skilled linemen faced dangerous conditions to fix outages and keep families safe and warm. It's important we recognize their brave work, so I intro'd a bipartisan resolution designating today as National #LinemanAppreciationDay.
