Federal authorities continue to prosecute individuals involved in the January 6 Capitol riot, securing over 700 total guilty pleas and scheduling initial court appearances for several defendants across the United States. Quinn Keen of Illinois pleaded guilty to assaulting and resisting police by confronting the police line, throwing a water bottle, and shoving an officer. Mitchell Bosch of New York has his initial appearance next TUESDAY, and Christopher Finney of upstate New York's appearance is tomorrow, with Bosch accused of rushing at a police line and grabbing a shield, and Finney allegedly joining a group push against officers in a tunnel. Matthew Honigford of Ohio also pleaded guilty to assaulting police with a flagpole. The Justice Department is seeking prison sentences in several cases, including six months for Christopher Kuehne on FRIDAY and 34 months for Jacob Zerkle of Arizona TODAY. Additionally, an FBI agent was indicted for stealing cash and silver from a Houston man prosecuted over the riots, and a New Jersey man was tracked down by the FBI using his jacket's name and phone number. Joseph Brody pleaded guilty to TWO FELONIES, and a Minnesota man was sentenced to three years in prison.
