India's space agency ISRO has successfully placed its PSLV-C58 XPoSat mission into orbit, marking a significant achievement in space exploration. The mission, which features the XPoSat satellite, aims to study X-rays emanating from various parts of the universe. The satellite is equipped with unique scientific capabilities such as X-ray Polarimetry, developed internally by ISRO. The mission's success was confirmed by multiple officials, including ISRO chief S Somanath, Space Scientist Dr. Suvendu Patnaik, and Union Minister of State for Science & Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh. The satellite's placement into orbit is part of a broader initiative to enhance scientific understanding in the field, with the goal of creating 100 scientists specialized in this area. Additionally, India's first solar observatory, Aditya-L1, has successfully reached a halo orbit around the Sun-Earth Lagrangian Point L1 after a journey of 1.5 million kilometers and 926 days from Earth. The Aditya-L1 mission, which cost Rs 400 crore, is helmed by team lead Ms. Nigar Shaji and has been lauded for its lack of gender bias and focus on talent. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the mission as a testament to the dedication of Indian scientists and a landmark in the country's complex space endeavors. With the Aditya-L1 solar observatory in place, the study of the Sun is expected to begin soon.
