The communities of Savannah and Waycross, Georgia, have come together to honor the lives and sacrifices of 23-year-old Sgt. Breonna Moffett and Sgt. Kennedy Sanders, respectively, who were tragically killed in a drone attack in Jordan last month. In Savannah, Sgt. Moffett's remains were escorted by a police motorcade from the airport to a funeral home near Forsyth Park. Meanwhile, in Waycross, Sgt. Sanders is being remembered with a ceremony where she lies in honor at the City Auditorium until 8 p.m., an event marked by the wearing of purple ribbons by attendees, including members of Congress, to signify their respect and mourning. The gesture of wearing purple ribbons was echoed by several lawmakers, including Rep. Drew Ferguson, Rep. Buddy Carter, Rep. Rick Allen, and Rep. Clyde, as a tribute to Sgt. Sanders' brave service and selfless sacrifice.
