A UN report has confirmed that on October 7, Hamas committed mass sexual violence against Israelis, including the rape and sexual torture of women and girls, as well as the rape of corpses. The report details that these acts of violence occurred in multiple locations across the south of Israel and at the Nova music festival, among other places. Over 1,200 Israelis, mostly civilians, were killed on this day, marking it as the most deadly day in Jewish history since the Holocaust. Additionally, more than 300 individuals were taken hostage to Gaza, with 132 still remaining. Among the hostages, 19 women are still held, suffering from ongoing sexual violence. The UN has found 'clear and convincing' evidence of sexual violence, including rape and sexualized torture, against the hostages. Despite the overwhelming evidence, the UN has yet to condemn Hamas officially or designate it as a terrorist organization. Israel is seeking a Security Council meeting to address these findings and push for official recognition of Hamas as a terrorist group, 151 days after the attack. Currently, 134 hostages still need to be released.
