Thailand will resume sending agricultural workers to Israel this week after an eight-month hiatus following the Hamas attacks on October 7. The Thai labor ministry has set a target of sending more than 10,000 workers for better-paying jobs. This decision comes despite the trauma from the attacks, which resulted in the highest losses among foreign nationals for Thailand. Six Thai nationals are still believed to be among the hostages held by Hamas fighters in Gaza. Thai Labor Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn emphasized that Thai nationals must only be employed in safe areas confirmed by Israeli authorities and the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv.
