Jared Kushner, in a speech to Harvard's Middle East forum, advocated for the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt as a permanent solution, arguing that recognizing a Palestinian state would be tantamount to 'rewarding terror.' He highlighted that Trump ensured Iran and 'the Palestinians' were 'broke.' Kushner suggested that Israel should facilitate the temporary accommodation of civilians from Rafah, a city in Gaza with an estimated population of 1.4 million, in interim camps on the Israeli side of Gaza's border before any military actions to avoid civilian casualties. Kushner's vision includes developing Gaza with casinos and Trump Tower complexes, funded by the Emirati, once the area is emptied of its current residents, stating any war that doesn’t end with Gaza emptied would be a strategic loss for Israel. His comments have sparked controversy, suggesting a strategy that would likely upset Palestinians, Egyptians, and Israelis alike. Brig.-Gen. (res.) Jacob Nagel, a former National Security Council chief, emphasized the importance of relocating 1.2 million Gazan refugees to prevent civilian casualties in the event of an IDF invasion of Rafah.
If the IDF is to invade Rafah, it needs to first make sure it moves 1.2 million Gazan refugees to avoid civilian casualties, noted Brig.-Gen. (res.) and former National Security Council chief Prof. Jacob Nagel. https://t.co/ZmaqsaPuaW
Kushner scores a hat trick here with musings that would upset Palestinians (let's expel Gazans while we build some condos), Egyptians (maybe Sisi will take them) and Israelis (maybe we can stick them in the Negev) all at the same time https://t.co/cSDU31Dyw9
The Trump administration will likely try and help Israel move the population out of Gaza so they can achieve Kushner dream of building casinos and Trump Tower complexes with Emirati funding. The reality is any war that doesn’t end with Gaza emptied is strategic loss for Israel.
Jared Kushner, repulsive as he may be, is right about something: Israel should temporarily host civilians from Rafah before invading the crowded city, home to an estimated 1.4 million people. But not in the Negev as he suggested; interim camps on the Israeli side of Gaza's border
Jared Kushner, speaking to @MiddleEast_HKS, @Harvard: - #Trump ensured #Iran & "the Palestinians" were "broke." - #Israel should "move the Palestinians out" of #Gaza to #Egypt, for good. - To acknowledge a Palestinian state would be "rewarding terror." https://t.co/8AqBUrOr4o
