Israeli archaeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority are assisting in the search for missing persons in houses and cars destroyed in the October 7th Hamas attack near the Gaza Strip. They are sifting through ashes and rubble, hoping to find human remains and identify the victims who are still missing a month after the deadly attack. Kibbutz Be’eri, one of the communities hardest hit by the attack, has seen a dozen young residents return to protect what’s left with the help of soldiers. The survivors are uncertain if they will be able to eventually return to their homes. Israel is seeking help from archaeologists to locate the dozens of people still unaccounted for after the attack.
