A group of Democratic representatives, including Joaquin Castro, Greg Casar, and Andre Carson, along with 36 colleagues, voted against the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, H.R. 8034. This act proposed sending additional offensive weapons to Israel. The representatives expressed concerns over the use of these weapons by Netanyahu's government in Gaza, citing issues such as indiscriminate killings and the exacerbation of the conflict. They emphasized the need for alternative approaches to achieve peace, save Israeli hostages, and achieve a ceasefire.
Today, I voted against H.R. 8034, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, along with many of my Democratic colleagues. See our full joint statement on why we have come together at this moment of great consequence: https://t.co/bXX6DSVOh4
Today, I voted no on sending more weapons to the Israeli government. If we want to save Israeli hostages, achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, and prevent a bigger war, we cannot keep sending Netanyahu more weapons — weapons that could make this catastrophe even worse.

All of us have seen the tragedy of Gaza. We've seen how Netanyahu's government has used US weapons to kill indiscriminately and create famine. I will not participate in this carnage. When Congress votes on sending more offensive weapons to Israel today, I will vote no. 1/ https://t.co/SJgcE8FSAJ
