The Gaza Strip is facing a severe humanitarian crisis with more than 2 million residents, almost its entire population, now refugees. The Ministry of Health has reported that 93% of the population is experiencing unprecedented levels of hunger, and 90% of children are drinking contaminated water, leading to infectious diseases. According to the United Nations, 40% of Gaza's population is at risk of famine, and half of the population has regularly gone without food for a whole day. Daily life in Gaza has become a struggle for survival as residents desperately search for food and water, with the UN World Food Program [WFP] noting that adults are starving so children can eat. The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and other entities have emphasized the need for regular supplies and safe, sustainable humanitarian access throughout the region. Calls for innovative solutions such as humanitarian air operations and food airdrops have been suggested to bypass the challenges posed by UNRWA, Hamas, Egypt, and Israel, and provide immediate relief to the famished civilians, especially in areas like the Jabalia refugee camp. The situation has been exacerbated by three months of war, pushing the territory to the verge of famine.

This is disastrous. We need to do a lot more to get food to Palestinian civilians in Gaza, and we need to use methods that bypass Hamas such as air drops as @afalkhatib advocates for. https://t.co/enVHDUoE9k
It's time for the World Food Program to initiate humanitarian air operations in #Gaza & carry out food airdrops as it did in numerous conflicts to stop starvation & famine. This will bypass UNRWA, Hamas, Egypt & Israel & get food to hungry, famished civilians. #Gaza_food_drops https://t.co/OjYMfcjNx7
