India's Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved a Rs 76,220-crore (approximately $9 billion) project to develop a new deep-sea port at Vadhavan near Dahanu in Maharashtra. The Vadhavan Port is expected to become one of the top 10 ports in the world and create approximately 12 lakh job opportunities. The port aims to boost trade with Europe and is part of a series of mega projects planned for the western coast of India.
