Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the Delhi Solar Policy 2024, offering zero electricity bills for those installing rooftop solar panels at home. The policy mandates solar panels for government buildings of 500 square meters within 3 years. The policy is considered the most progressive in the country, building on the 2016 Solar Policy. Cabinet approval has been granted, and it is expected to be notified within 10 days. The tariff for commercial and industrial consumers will be halved upon installing rooftop solar panels. In a separate development, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the Green Hydrogen Policy, with MoUs signed with seven companies and an expected investment of around ₹80,000 crores in five years for Green Hydrogen Projects.
