The Philadelphia Flyers have finalized a significant 4-year contract extension for defenseman Nick Seeler, securing his services for the next four years at a $10.8 million contract, with a $2.7 million average annual value (AAV). The extension includes a full no-trade clause for the first two years and signing bonuses totaling $2.5 million, with a $1.5M signing bonus in 2024-25 and a $1M signing bonus in 2025-26. This contract marks a pivotal moment for Seeler, who, at 30 years old, was previously on a two-way deal that guaranteed him $375,000 this season. The decision to re-sign Seeler reflects the Flyers' valuation of his contribution to the team's culture and performance, despite earlier uncertainty around his future with the team. The Flyers had been contemplating trade offers for Seeler but ultimately opted to keep him, underscoring his importance to the team as they approach the trade deadline.
Sources confirm Nick Seeler has been signed to an extension by #Flyers for 4 yrs, $2.7 AAV, 2-yr NTC & signing bonuses. A much-deserved reward for the guy his coach calls "a nut job" & his teammates say is a big reason why they're in a playoff spot. https://t.co/7PBgPWdKhe

It's a life-changing, $10.8 million contract extension for 30-year-old #Flyers defenseman Nick Seeler. He almost hung up his skates a few years ago. He was playing on a two-way deal that guaranteed him $375,000 this season. 4 yrs x $2.7 mil, with $2.5 mil in signing bonuses.

Nick Seeler will sign a 3-4 year extension, within $2.5-$3.5 million AAV range. Exactly my figures, as stated since January https://t.co/dKNy7R9zKb
Nick Seeler was placed on IR. Also, he will be re-signed to a 3 or 4 year extension by the time the trade deadline commences. #Flyers
Nick Seeler is on IR. Contract a contract extension be nearing? https://t.co/ZcC0Qw1617
The Flyers have telegraphed since January that all things considered, they wanted to re-sign Seeler. Purely from an asset management standpoint, it makes more sense to trade him (30 going on 31, selling high). But they feel he's integral to the culture they're trying to foster.
As @DarrenDreger reported, #Flyers are making progress on an extension with defenseman Nick Seeler. But he's going to miss a couple weeks of action after blocking a shot against #stlblues on Monday night.
The Flyers have put Nick Seeler on IR. He's an obvious trade target, unless they re-sign him.
Nick Seeler has been placed on injured reserve. He blocked a shot to the area of his left ankle/foot. Flyers have called up Adam Ginning from Lehigh Valley.
The Flyers continue to make progress on a contract extension with veteran defenceman Nick Seeler.
The Flyers will re-sign Nick Seeler before the trade deadline commences. If the Flyers do indeed re-sign Sean Walker, then maybe the Flyers do not have to take a bad contract back in return. Maybe that said team that he gets traded to wanted a deal in place instead
Flyers trade deadline: Nick Seeler re-signs Sean Walker- traded for a 1st, young prospect (C+-B- type). That's it....
Still 3 days to go, but sounds increasingly unlikely that #Flyers will be re-signing both Sean Walker and Nick Seeler. They've got a good feel now on what both will cost. Meantime, they're fielding trade offers for both and will weigh return vs. extension. One likely traded.
I have said towards the middle of January that Nick Seeler would re-sign. I don't know why some Flyers fans are shocked. In regards to Sean Walker, maybe the team(s) that Danny Briere is looking at to move him to wants him to have it deal in place with Walker before he's traded. https://t.co/J5OFBcWJOE
