Toronto Maple Leafs have concluded negotiations with Max Domi, securing his position on the team. However, Tyler Bertuzzi will not be returning to the Maple Leafs as his market value has outpriced Toronto's budget. Bertuzzi is expected to land a deal elsewhere in the range of four years and over $5 million per year. Despite the Leafs' efforts, Bertuzzi will test the NHL free agency market. As of now, the New Jersey Devils have not shown interest in Bertuzzi, although this could change with Toronto no longer an option. Darren Dreger first reported on June 30 and July 1 that Bertuzzi would not be re-signing with the Leafs.
Confirmed that Bertuzzi will be moving on and won't be re-signing with the #Leafs. @DarrenDreger first to report. https://t.co/wUk6RtamZF
As of tonight, I'm told the #NJDevils haven't shown interest in pending free agent Tyler Bertuzzi. That, of course, could change tomorrow with Toronto no longer an option. https://t.co/UGX0j2pebV

Tyler Bertuzzi will NOT be returning to the Leafs. 😬 https://t.co/b9ixl4wpS5
Tyler Bertuzzi won’t be returning to the Maple Leafs. His value has out priced Toronto. He will land a deal elsewhere in the 4 year and over $5 mil per territory.
It was believed it would be an either/or for the Leafs in negotiations with Domi and Bertuzzi. However, with Domi locked down, Toronto continues to negotiate with Tyler Bertuzzi.
