Shell and TotalEnergies are in discussions with ADNOC to acquire stakes in a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in the United Arab Emirates. The project, located in Ruwais, has also attracted interest from Japan's Mitsui. Fossil fuel producers are investing billions in such LNG projects, betting on rising gas demand over the coming decades. A final decision on the UAE facility is expected as early as next month.
