The Mexican president expressed confidence that the Acapulco ATP 500 tournament could go on as scheduled, with a 'large part' of the hurricane-affected homes and areas rebuilt by then. Hurricane Otis rapidly intensified in strength as it neared the coast of Mexico, catching many off guard. The city of Acapulco is now working to recover from the devastation caused by the hurricane, which went from a tropical storm to a Category 5 hurricane in a record 12 hours.
