Honda is recalling approximately 106,000 CR-V hybrid sport utility vehicles and over 2.5 million other US vehicles, including popular models such as the Accord and Civic, due to a battery cable problem and a fuel pump defect that can increase the risk of fire in an accident and cause engine failure or stalling while driving. The global recall extends to 4.5 million vehicles worldwide. Affected models include 2018 through 2020 editions. The fuel pump issue cannot be fixed with an over-the-air software update, requiring dealers to physically replace the fuel pump module. The defect reportedly affects only 1% of the population of the vehicles.
