Sen. Chuck Grassley has announced a new congressional oversight inquiry into the FAA and Boeing following a mid-air emergency involving a Boeing 737 MAX 9 in January, where a door panel blew out during an Alaska Airlines flight. The US National Transportation Safety Board is also investigating why another Boeing 737 MAX 8 'rolled' during a flight last month. Additionally, the FAA is investigating two incidents involving Boeing 737 MAX planes operated by Southwest Airlines, as well as a safety concern raised with both Boeing and Airbus jets. An investigation has been launched after a Boeing 737 MAX 8 dropped within 400 feet of the ocean. The GOP has expressed strong concerns, with the announcement made on June 15 and June 17.
