North Carolina is on the brink of legalizing sports betting, as evidenced by an 'avalanche of ads' from major betting platforms like Caesars Sportsbook and FanDuel. Caesars Sportsbook is enticing new users with several profit boosts this weekend through a special promo code 'NYPNEWSDBL', while FanDuel is offering $300 in bonus bets in North Carolina, compared to $150 in other states, for any game on Sunday. This development comes amid observations of an overwhelming increase in advertising for sports betting in the state, ranging from social media to traditional advertising platforms, indicating a significant push in the market ahead of the official legalization. Additionally, there's a broader discussion on the regulation of online gambling, including 'online casino games', with some predicting a cycle of initial deregulation followed by strict government intervention due to potential negative impacts.
The bombardment of FanDuel ads in North Carolina right now is something to behold.
The predictable outcome. First online sports betting. Then online casino games because no profits. Then advertising is regulated and account funding rules change. Then industry will try and regulate themselves because of horror stories. Then gov will ban. https://t.co/6nJOyo89ee

Sports betting is legal in NC in a few days and I only know this because the avalanche of ads from predatory betting apps managed to drown out the scam ads by blue-check bots.
Man, have yall heard that sports gambling is coming to North Carolina? Big, if true. Surprised I haven't seen more ads on Twitter, TV, billboards, The Facebook, radio, blimps, state of emergency alerts, etc.

With so many states that now allow online sports gambling it’s surprising to me that every single state has explicitly prohibited domestic politics betting. Each jurisdiction has actually written a specific provision banning the activity.
