The UN Security Council has adopted a resolution extending the monthly reporting requirement by the Secretary-General on Houthi attacks on merchant and commercial vessels in the Red Sea until January 15, 2025. The resolution, part of resolution 2722, was approved with 12 votes in favor, none against, and three abstentions from Russia, China, and Algeria.
