U.S. forces engaged six Houthi unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) over the southern Red Sea after the group launched four anti-ship ballistic missiles toward a Chinese-owned oil tanker, the U.S. Central Command reported. Cdr Pete Evans noted that since the ship first entered the Red Sea in December, the Houthis have escalated their use of conventional and ballistic missiles, posing a significant threat to commercial shipping. This escalation comes amid the Houthis targeting ships off the coast of Yemen and launching attacks on four ships in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea in the last 72 hours, including two U.S. destroyers. The attacks also targeted the Maersk Saratoga, APL Detroit, Huang Pu, and Pretty Lady ships. Despite these aggressive actions, there have been no confirmed reports of damage to the vessels. The Yemeni Armed Forces, marking the 10th year of the American-British aggression, claimed responsibility for these attacks, including targeting Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat).
Houthis released a statement they launched attacks on 4 vessels recently, including 2 U.S. navy destroyers. I never saw any confirmed damage reports from these attacks, so seems like they all missed. I thought Maersk said they were still avoiding the region…. https://t.co/DBcUkd1e0W
