Purchases of fertilizer for the soybean 24-25 crop in Brazil have reached 69%, ahead of last year. This aligns with faster farmer selling, as the forward sales for the new crop are close to 10%, which is 5 percentage points ahead of last year. Last week, Brazil traded July at +49n and +60sq for August in the soybean paper market, both at the highest levels of the year. New crop is also getting stronger. Farmer selling increased compared to last week, with soybean forward sales reaching 1.7 million tons and corn 1.2 million tons. The first crop corn harvest in Brazil is 82% complete, with Safrinha 4% complete. Private exporters announced the sale of 3.8 million bushels of soybeans to China during the 2023/24 marketing year. Chinese crushers are also showing increased demand.
