Belarusian customs police have been clearing an unprecedented volume of imports from Poland in 2023, with these goods subsequently being sent to Russia. During a visit to a factory producing Chinese Geely cars, Belarusian dictator Lukashenko claimed that China is requesting technology from Belarus, including laser optics and space program collaboration. In a concerning escalation, Lukashenko also announced that Russia has transferred nuclear missiles with nuclear warheads to Belarus for the Iskander missile systems, which have the capability to reach Poland. He accused Poland of planning an attack on Belarus and suggested that the deployment of these missiles has subdued the rhetoric of neighboring countries.
