The UK government, under Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, has announced significant tax cuts and childcare support measures in the Spring Budget aimed at reducing the financial burden on workers and parents. The House of Commons passed a bill that, along with last year's cuts, will save average earners £900 annually. The Finance Bill introduced will benefit almost half a million families with an average saving of £1,260 towards childcare costs, potentially up to £4,000, and provide £1 billion in tax relief for the creative sector. Additionally, the National Insurance rate will be further reduced by 2 percentage points, saving an average employee earning £35,000 about £785 a year. The government also increased the threshold for the High Income Child Benefit Charge from £50,000 to £60,000, making nearly 500,000 families better off. Furthermore, over 150,000 children are set to benefit from the largest expansion of childcare in history, saving parents over £500 million. Eligible working parents of 9-month-olds will be able to apply for 15 hours a week of childcare from May 12.
