London is set to experience another Tube strike early in the New Year as members of the RMT Union have voted overwhelmingly in favor of taking rolling strike action. The union rejected Transport for London's (TfL) 'best and final' offer of a five percent pay raise, with 90.5% of its members backing the strike action over a below inflation pay offer. The RMT Union has announced a week of strike chaos, including two major walkouts scheduled for Monday, January 8, and Wednesday, January 10. London Underground workers, including engineering and maintenance staff, are planning a series of strikes on separate days during the first two weeks of 2024 in a dispute over pay. Mayor Sadiq Khan has criticized new strike laws as not 'fit for purpose' and has disclosed that TfL is in discussions with the RMT Union to try to avoid the upcoming strikes.
