Former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Trump campaign aide Michael Roman have pleaded not guilty to nine felony charges in Maricopa County Superior Court on Friday. The charges stem from their alleged involvement in a scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Arizona. Both Meadows and Roman entered their pleas virtually in hearings that lasted less than five minutes each. Meadows has already completed booking procedures, according to his attorney. The indictment alleges that Meadows and other Trump campaign members submitted names of fake electors from Arizona and other states to Congress in an effort to keep Trump in office despite his defeat to Joe Biden.
