The Dallas Stars, under the guidance of president and CEO Brad Alberts, are actively exploring a groundbreaking free, direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming platform for the next season, potentially replacing Bally Sports. This initiative, aimed at offering games to fans without a subscription fee, involves collaboration with APMC, the company behind Dude Perfect's DTC service. The move, spearheaded by Stars' president and CEO Brad Alberts, positions the team as pioneers in the sports streaming domain. Meanwhile, other teams like the Diamondbacks are opting for different models, including selling their TV packages directly to consumers with no blackouts, after being dropped by Diamond Sports Group. The Twins have chosen to renew their contract with Bally Sports North for an additional year. MikeHeika first reported on this development, later confirmed by Lassimak in a discussion with Brad Alberts.
Here's how the Diamondbacks are selling their TV package, direct to consumer and with no blackouts, after being dropped by Diamond Sports Group. Twins could have taken a similar approach, but instead decided to re-up with Bally Sports North for one year. https://t.co/jdNFqICqyi
If you're looking to watch D-backs games this season, you will need to purchase a streaming plan through Major League Baseball. https://t.co/4Kp5HpkeqT

The Stars are exploring a free, direct-to-consumer option that would make them pioneers in the sports streaming space. I spoke with president and CEO Brad Alberts about an app they're developing that could replace Bally Sports. @MikeHeika had it first. https://t.co/Ix73MbJq2p
Hearing that the Stars are working on a compelling DTC offering for next season in case Bally’s is not an option. This would be free to the fans, no subscription. They are working with APMC which is the company that created Dude Perfect’s DTC offering.
