A recent survey conducted by Piper Sandler involving 6,020 US teenagers reveals a significant uptick in the ownership and usage of VR devices among this demographic. The findings indicate that 33% of US teenagers now own a VR device, marking an increase from 31% in the fall of 2023. Additionally, the weekly usage of VR devices has risen to approximately 13% from around 10% in the previous survey period. The survey also highlighted preferences in other technology and entertainment areas, showing that 85% of US teens own an iPhone, and 86% plan for their next phone to be an iPhone. However, when it comes to music services, only over 30% of teens reported using Apple Music, with nearly two-thirds expressing a preference for Spotify. The data also reveals that teens allocate 29% of their daily video consumption to Netflix, a decrease of 210 basis points from the previous spring.
