Ukrainian troops are under pressure from both Russian and North Korean forces, with the latter assisting in the offensive. The Russian military has captured 430 Ukrainian soldiers in the region, and Putin has stated that these prisoners will be treated as terrorists. The conflict has seen the liberation of 49 settlements and 1,268 km2 of territory since the start of the Ukrainian incursion.
