The findings rejected Justice Varma's denial of wrongdoing and confirmed the presence of the cash. The investigation also examined call data records and noted that some cash was unaccounted for. After the incident, judicial work was withdrawn from Justice Varma in the Delhi High Court and he was transferred to the Allahabad High Court, where he currently does not have judicial assignments. The Allahabad Bar Association protested his swearing-in. The CJI has forwarded the panel's findings to Justice Varma, granting him two days to respond. If he does not resign, impeachment proceedings may be initiated. The matter is expected to be decided before CJI Khanna's retirement on May 13.
