Odakyu Odawara Line Accident and Hokuriku Shinkansen Noise Suspend Services, 1,700 Passengers Affected; Services Resumed

Train services on the Odakyu Odawara Line between Shinyurigaoka and Machida stations were suspended due to an accident at a crossing. Services resumed shortly after the disruption. Separately, the Hokuriku Shinkansen experienced a temporary suspension of operations between Joetsu-Myoko and Toyama stations following the detection of an abnormal noise while the train was running between Itoigawa and Kurobe-Unazuki-Onsen. Although inspections of the train cars and tracks found no abnormalities, the cause of the noise is still under investigation. Approximately 1,700 passengers were affected by the Hokuriku Shinkansen suspension. Both train lines have since resumed normal operations.
