Myanmar's military regime is intensifying its scrutiny of the nation's 580 employment agencies to increase revenue from overseas workers' remittances. This move is part of efforts to address a foreign currency shortage and stabilize the economy. Junta officials have begun collecting personal information of workers in industrial zones in preparation for a census and a general election next year. Meanwhile, resistance forces led by the TNLA have reportedly captured the 902nd Tactical Artillery Command and the 206th and 406th Artillery Battalions in Taung Hkam, near Pyin Oo Lwin. The junta has announced plans for a general election in November 2025, facing opposition from rebel groups and the shadow National Unity Government.
