Israel Hits 17 Targets in Syrian Daraa Province Using 22 Jets and 60 Munitions

The Israeli military launched airstrikes on military sites in Syria's southern Daraa province on Monday night, targeting former regime positions. The strikes hit radars, command centers, and weapons depots, including the 12th Brigade base in Izraa and the Artillery Regiment 89 in Jbab. Reports indicate that at least 17 strikes were carried out. According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), 22 fighter jets dropped over 60 munitions on 40 targets, aiming to eliminate 'future threats' posed by military assets in the region. The IDF stated that the targeted equipment, including radar and detection systems, was used for aerial intelligence gathering and observation platforms. These strikes are part of Israel's military operations in Syria following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad in December 2024. Israel has conducted hundreds of airstrikes on Syrian military infrastructure since Assad's ouster, citing security concerns and the prevention of hostile forces acquiring military assets.
