Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi Says No Agreement to Resume Nuclear Talks With US, Cites No Attacks Condition Post-Israel Conflict

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran is currently assessing whether diplomacy with the United States aligns with its interests, but there is no agreement or understanding to resume nuclear talks at this time. This position was reiterated by Iranian officials, including Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi, who emphasized that no arrangements have been made for new negotiations. Iran denied plans to restart talks following a 12-day conflict with Israel and accused Washington of exaggerating the impact of US strikes. Tehran has conditioned any resumption of nuclear negotiations on the United States refraining from aggression against Iran, particularly assurances that US forces will not attack Iranian nuclear facilities during talks. Former US President Donald Trump has stated he is not engaged in dialogue with Iran and has not authorized access to billions of dollars in funds for the Islamic Republic. Iranian officials maintain their right to continue uranium enrichment and insist that diplomatic channels remain open, but only under conditions that guarantee no renewed military action by the US.
