Iran’s Exiled Prince Pahlavi Urges Uprising, Sets Channel for Defectors

Exiled Iranian crown prince Reza Pahlavi intensified his campaign against Tehran’s leadership with a series of video messages and a 23 June press conference in Paris, declaring that the Islamic Republic “has come to its end and is collapsing.” He urged the population to mount a nationwide uprising and told Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to step down and face a fair trial.

Pahlavi said credible sources inside the security forces report that the regime’s command and coordination structures are disintegrating and that Khamenei’s family, along with other senior officials, is preparing to flee. Calling the situation Iran’s “Berlin Wall moment,” he argued that splits within the military and intelligence services show the authorities can no longer contain unrest.

Presenting himself as a transitional figure rather than a monarch, the 64-year-old outlined a 100-day roadmap toward a secular, democratic order based on individual liberties and the separation of religion and state. He appealed to Western governments not to “throw the regime a lifeline,” saying a democratic Iran would reinforce regional stability after recent U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

On 29 June the prince announced the launch of a secure communications channel for members of the armed forces, police, security agencies and civil service who wish to defect. His office said thousands registered within 24 hours, part of a broader “national cooperation campaign” aimed at coordinating non-violent resistance and preventing chaos should the government fall.
